A 19th century group of Ivory and Silver mounted Burmese Dha knives
A nice group of antique Burmese knives, all mounted with ivory handle grips, and silver sheet to the hilts, and three with silver to the sheaths. The blades of good steel, two with fullering, and chiselled decoration. One of the smaller daggers has a silver mount decorated with niello inlay which is a technique sometimes encountered on Burmese and Thai weapons. One of the longer ivory grips has a slight chip to one side, and one of the smaller wooden sheaths has some damage to the top and some bands missing, some denting to the silver sheath ends, one blade with brazed repair to the tip, otherwise these knives are in good condition with a pleasing patination throughout. They date to the second half of the 19th century and are unrestored in any way. The longest piece is 20.5 inches, with a blade length of 12 inches. southern asia, south east asia, khmer, burma, thailand, vietnam, dah, sword, kiem, guom
