Description

A good Moroccan sword ‘Nimcha’. Very long steel blade of high quality stamped to the forte deeply with makers marks. The hilt with a large grip carved from a single piece of blonde Rhino horn, the iron guards with traces of their orginal gold decoration. A small collar of silver-gilt with recesses for enamel inlay. The scabbard with green fabric covering, long silver mounts finely chiselled with decoration, stamped in various places with arabic silver proof markings. Age wear, good solid condition. Circa 1800.
