Description
Omani Hide shield of conical form. an interesting small hard buckler shield used in Oman, but made in Zanzibar or the southern arabian peninsula. Made from mouled and spun rhino or hippo hide, these traditional shields are noted for their high dome to the centre and small attached metal motifs which hold the handle on.
