A good 19th century Moro keris or kris sword from the Southern Philippines. The steel double edged blade high quality and with signs of a central band and hardened edges, the central section to each side chiselled with symbolic motifs. The hilt with attractive and unusual horsehair grip binding, the pommel nicely carved of wood with a deep rich patina. Original scabbard with some rattan binding remaining.
