Persian Helmet Khula Khud with engraved calligraphy

 A nice Persian Steel Khula Khud helmet from the 19th Century. The steel bow, plume holders and nasal guards all finely engraved with calligraphic panels amid other decorative motifs of birds and scrollwork. The spike to the top four-sided, the nasal bar lifts and is held by a screw. The original mail neck and face protection remains in fairly good order, with a mix of steel links and patterns picked out with brass rings.Some minor losses and fixes to the mail. Rarely retaining its original wool padded silk inner lining. Good condition overall.
