 Two 19th century Karo Battak swords from the remote region of North Sumatra, Both hilts carved from staghorn and beautifully patinated from use to a glossy orangey colour. the blade of stout thick steel, one with scabbard displaying some carved characters to the centre which probably are a magical charm for protection. the sheath with damages and losses
