Fiercesome Gond Spiked Axe from India

 A very nice Indian tribal axe from the Gond or Kond tribe of central India. Heavy steel spiked bifurcated blade with outside spikes and forked blade. Very sharp and robust. The top of the axe shaft mounted with  a brass decorated fitting, and surmounted by a long central spike. The shaft bound for half of its length with brass wire, darkwood shaft with a small iron cap to the foot. 42 inhes overall. 19th century
