Japanese Domaru laquered body armour

Description

 An Iron Hotoke Do, chest and back smooth armour named after the buddha, upper thigh armour lacquered in black allover and with the back and front marked with a family Mon crest Daki Omodaka 抱面高  water plantains in gold leaf.The side with tie cord, and iron ring and a spike fitting to the rear perhaps for a flag.  Six upper thigh guard panels Kuzakuri made from series of lames of leather ( Nerigawa) reinforced with Iron strips at points, laced allover with blue dyed cord. Good overall, condition, some losses, fa a few strips of fabric broken here and there. Edo period
