Rare Alamang sword from Sulawesi

 A scarce sword type from Celebes now Sulawesi in Indonesia.  This unusual sword has a curious hilt shape carved from a single piece of horn. The sowrd has silver bands mounted to the top and bottom of the sheath and hilt. The wooden sheath bound with fine rattan cane, some lacking, the heavy blade forged from lamellar steel with some old damage from use to its edge. 19th century. A very hard to find sword.
