A good Visayan Parang with silver mounts

 A fine and scarce quality Philippine parang from the Visayas. The hilt carved from horn as a grinning demon, with the features mounted with silver and other decoration. The lower grip of thick silver  and a hand guard of horn encased with silver below that. The blade is of heavy steel, with some chiselled decoration to the top, chisell edged blade. Complete with its sheath mounted with fabric and bands of turtle shell. 19th century
