Good Philippine Bagobo Shield 19th century

 A good solid Bagoba warrios shield from Mindanao, Southern Philippines. Decorated with paintwork in traditional colours of black white and red, the edges adorned with bristles of horsehair, two bands of reinforcing strapwork. Central boss with carved and painted decorations. Slightly curved and thicker at the bottom to serve as better defensively. 19th century, age wear and light cracking.
