Fine Persian or Bukharan Saddle Axe with gold

 A very fine Persian or Asian Saddle Axe Tabarzin. The heavy steel head of very good quality with strong central wootz pattern, bordered by gold calligraphy. The reverse peen with gold embellishment of a hunting tiger. The top of the axe mounted with turquoise and a glass stones. The shafft covered with embossed silver foil covering over a wooden shaft. 19th century.
