Antique Turkish Leather Cartridge Case

Description

An attractive Ottoman Turkish leather pouch containing a set of beautifully turned wooden gunpowder holding canisters. The outside cover embroidered with a crescent star and two shamshirs (worn). The interior cover applied with brass studs and more embroidered silver thread. Turkish Janissaries were famously heavily armed with pistols, swords, and dagger stuffed into their girdles, this case would have been on the belt to the side.
