Samoan war club Fa’alautalinga . An unusually fine example showing great age to the patination. Both surfaces decorated with various chip-carved designs, the top thickened to form a robust striking area at the side. The lower areas worn smooth and glossy from use and possessing a rich lustrous patina, the bottom with a carved suspension lug. 19th century or earlier.
