Description

An early Maasai sword ‘Seme’. An old example, very long, with a heavy narrow blade very thick at the top. The hilt covered with black leather and sewn along one side, the scabbard similarly covered, with and iron ring to the base, and a loop for a strap on one side. Wonderful old patina. Kenya 19th/early 20th century. 37 inches overall. Eastern Africa
