19th century Abyssinian Ethiopian shield with silver gilt mounts

Very attractive Abyssinian shield mounted with multiple heavily gilt silver straps and panels, large central boss, four smaller bosses and panels with pairs of birds. The covering a brownish worn velvet.  Some losses, a stunning display piece dating to the late 19th century.   african
