Two Turkish Yataghan sword Gold Silver Inlay and Damascus blade
Two good quality Turkish swords Yataghan hilted with walrus Ivory. One with an extremely fine blade made from damascus 'ribbon-twist' steel deeply inlaid with silver arabic calligraphy and decorative motifs to both sides, silver chiselled bolster and hilt mounts. Retaining its original scabbard with silver mounts ( damage to chape tip, loss of leather), the other yataghan with a fine steel blade inlaid with gold cartouches to each side, steel bolsters and hilt mounts. Complete with its original leather scabbard with wire sewn seam, brass mounts chape terminating with a monsters head. Both wth age wear, minor loss etc complete and good quality examples dating to the 18th century.
