Two Turkish Yataghan sword Gold Silver Inlay and Damascus blade

Description

Two good quality Turkish swords Yataghan hilted with walrus Ivory. One with an extremely fine blade made from damascus ‘ribbon-twist’ steel deeply inlaid with silver arabic calligraphy and decorative motifs to both sides, silver chiselled bolster and hilt mounts. Retaining its original scabbard with silver mounts ( damage to chape tip, loss of leather), the other yataghan with a fine steel blade inlaid with gold cartouches to each side, steel bolsters and hilt mounts. Complete with its original leather scabbard with wire sewn seam, brass mounts chape terminating with a monsters head. Both wth age wear, minor loss etc complete and good quality examples dating to the 18th century.
