A magnificent 19th century Zulu spear known as an ‘assegai’ or iklwa. Fully genuine and antique. The extremely large steel spear blade is great condition, forged steel with a ridge along the blade centre and the two small lugs beneath the head that are always encountered on the older pieces. The neck tightly bound with grass or reed woven binding, the wooden shaft intact and the original unaltered length. This zulu spear is being offered with two others from the same English private collection along with a lovely untouched Zulu knobkerrie with wire binding
