An unusual sword Dao sword from North India/Assam/Sikkin/Bhutan region. Unusual weapon rarely found with squared wooden hilt bound with woven leather and adorned with red hair, hide bound grip, long heavy steel blade with a single edge. Complete with its split bamboo scabbard bound with hide, dried leaves and cane/rattan or bamboo strips, metal mounts. The scabbard has a thin cane sling also remaining. A very scarce piece to find.
