An attractive antique Silver mounted Kard knife or dagger, possibly Turkish or central Asian. The sheath with very finely applied silver beading and filigree, with a hanging loop. The thick and robust blade of Persian manufacture, being of high quality wootz or damascus steel showing the very rare 'kirk narduban' or laddered pattern within the swirl of the watering. The blade forte with facetted shaped bolster area again of wootz steel, the spine chiselled with ribs and a cartouche type panel to the top. An interesting and unusual example.
