Antique Indian Wooden Sword 'Sypha' painted

An interesting item and very rare survival of an  wooden sword 'Sypha'. "A symbolic sword used since early times in ritual for a variety of purposes calculated symbolically to ensure the safe, undisturbed performance of the sacrifice. The Satapatha Brahmana describes the ritual use of the Sypha 'a straight sword or knife a cubit long, carved out of Khadire wood'  .The sword is incredibly well made, the hilt carved from wood, and decorated with paint imitating koftgari designs, the blade is wood silver painted, the long straight scabbard is again wood, beautifully crafted, all in good condition despite its fragility.  some glued minor repairs to disc pommel.
