A fine antique Vietnamese Guom sword with silverwork

A very nice example of a Vietnamese saber Guom. The sword has an elegant curving single edged blade with some carved motifs on it at the forte and near the tip. The hilt if mounted with a large handguard inlaid with silver and alloyed metal designs of very high craftsmanship, the grip clad in copper with silver inlay, a silver crest along the back, the guard silver edged, and a large monster head pommel made from silver. The scabbard is copper with large finely chiselled and worked silver mounts depicting dragons and similar motifs, original silk tassels are still in situ. 19th century
